It is the year 2001. During her nomadic East Coast travels, Megan was living in Sydney’s Newtown and working in customer service. Henry was living the life of a twenty-something Sydney-sider, sharehousing with mates and working at “being good with computers”. Their friends, in their devious generosity, schemed for Megan & Henry to meet.
They were photographed standing next to each other at their friends’ school uniform party, but they were yet to meet. They were, however, introduced at the 888 bar, one of Sydney’s finest Karaoke establishments of the day. One long weekend away in Avoca with their scheming friends, and an orange-themed party later, and the two would become inseparable.
In the years that followed, Megan & Henry kept busy doing a great many things together, like camping, cycling, hiking, playing video games, competing in pub trivia and pool competitions, attending gigs and even the odd karaoke night.
Megan & Henry are getting hitched
Won’t you join us in celebrating with our families and friends?
In 2006 the pair prepared to hit the road together, packing up in Sydney to travel through South East Asia, then North, Central & South America for the better part of a year. They unpacked in London, where they ended up living & working for three years, exploring other parts of Britain and a few nice bits of Europe.
Whilst in that part of the world they took to the countryside in Cornwall to celebrate Meg’s birthday and visit her ancestral lands. There, on a warm September day, after enjoying quaint fishing towns, fine wine & seafood, they sat to watch the sun set over the Atlantic at Land’s End. It was here that Henry got down on bended knee and asked Megan to marry him. She said yes.
In 2010, Megan & Henry returned to Sydney’s Inner West, where they enjoy the company of good friends & family. They’ve recently been busy preparing to celebrate their ten year anniversary and wedding day in 2011…
